SWLFC U11’s: Another fantastic game from our girls and coaches today! Starting with a change due to lack of players which obviously affected how the team formation had to play. Signs of real ability coming through with improvements all round. Some of these girls have only just started playing football which considering they are in an under 11s league they could be playing against seasoned players with enough skill to demolish the inexperienced; the effort given by both teams today any spectators there would never know. FA guidelines are there to ensure that no team suffers due to lack of experience or ability. It’s lovely see both teams coaches going beyond this to ensure fairness, changing the state of play far earlier than required to ensure the game continued to the benefit of all the girls. It would be nice to see other managers and coaches follow the same fair play throughout this league!

SWLFC U15’s: Game day 12 today with the girls looking to a keep a firm grip on top spot as we faced Dronfield for the final time this season. My first ever game where I wasn’t there but I left the team in very capable hands with Luke Higgins and Dylan Skidmore. Report from Luke and others there. Game got off to a great start with a quick fire goal from Delia Hurdiss. The good start was soon forgotten though when a defensive lapse allowed Dronfield back into the game. The girls were nearly caught out a few minutes later but were thankful for a good save from Skye. An early change saw skipper Lottie Howe brought into the game earlier than planned but it paid dividends when the lead was recaptured via her on 22 minutes. Further goals from under the weather Millie Simms and Clara Miller meant the girls went in 4-1 up. Millie grabbed her second soon after the restart. This was followed by goals from Jess Sutton and Kayha Williams. Delia got back in on the action to grab her hat trick with Maisie Stanley scoring the last of the game. Some good stuff once they got going but a score line that was harsh on a very spirited opponent.

Well done everyone, Some great performances including the ones that are not reportable.
