Saturday 13th Jan 2018 (Match Date)

Game day 14 and our first of 2018. We faced Sheffield FC for the third time with the girls looking for a hat-trick of wins against them.

From the early moments it was clear this was going to be a good game with both teams starting well. A couple of one on one chances came out way but didn’t result in a goal. Sheffield FC punished these misses following a lapse in concentration, the striker finding herself clear on goal to slot home. A few more chances went begging which meant the half finished with the girls 1-0 down.

We were always confident the girls would create further opportunities in the second half. That they did and following a goal mouth scramble Millie Simmswas on hand with the equaliser. The pressure was being piled on now and the lead was grabbed via a brilliant individual effort from Delia Hurdiss. This was soon followed by another great strike from Millie to make the final score 3-1.

A great team performance slightly dampened by what looked like a nasty injury to Kayha Lea Williams. Fingers crossed it is nothing serious.
