No manager this week as Dave Higgins has work commitments so the squad are in the hands of 1st team coach Michelle Stevens and Lee South (our U16's manager who has stepped up to help) Ossett currently sit top of the league, the teams played a few weeks ago when Ossett came out 4-0 winners. No Jodie stancill this week after she chipped a bone in last weeks cup game after another "strong" challenge.

The game kicked off and disaster struck in the 2nd minute when ever present and super reliable central defender Sophie Trotter was carried off with a suspected torn hamstring. A close game then ensued with nothing between the teams  Ossett did take the lead after 30 minutes from a mistake and then scored again within the next two minutes to give them a 2-0 lead which they took into the break. Our lot did have a couple of chances to get on the score sheet but other than the goals it had been a fairly tight and even first half.

Half Time: 0-2

Unfortunatley our 2nd centre half Demi West had to be replaced at half time has an old injury reoccured and she played no further part in the game. To add insult to injury winger Phoebe Davis left the pitch injured in the first minutes of the second half leaving just 10 players to battle on for almost the whole of the second half. Osset got a thirrd in the early stages before our lot held the opposition at 3-0 until the last 12 minutes of the game when tired legs meant Ossett would add a further 4 goals in the final 12 minutes making the score line look flattering to say the least.

Full time: 0-7

Managers comment:

Gutted I couldn't be there today but word is our girls had a good first half before having a valiant 2nd half with just 10 players playing a decent Ossett team who are full of confidence at the moment and currently sit on top of the league. Knowing this league they now look very likley to go on a win the division. My feelings are of frustration, we once again played a full half with a team of just 10 players against the top of the league, The club has a pool of around 50 players who we should be able to call upon if required but for some reason this isn't happening.

We don't have a game next week so we can hopefully get some of our players fit and ready for Doncaster Belles who sit just behind us on goal difference..
