SWLFC U15's 2019/20 Season Review.....

We start the week off with a review of our U15's season, a great one for the girls, under new management and with a cup win and looking for the League and cup double should the season have run its course....

Manager Millie reports.....
The highlight of the season is looking back from start to finish. With new manager Millie Kenyon stepping up and James Moore joining the team as assistant. Several players left the squad and new faces joined the team. Our under 15's team started the season brightly under new management and new player additions. The work rate and intensity of the girls throughout the season never stopped, we stuck together finishing the season with great success. Every game played we progressed, playing better football and managing the games. We finished the season short playing 13 games, winning 10 and drawing 1, 3 more wins would have seen us regain our title.

The cup final saw the same two teams involved as last year us and Handsworth. After both beating each other in the league the cup final was set to be a great game which we came out as 1-0 winners with a great goal by Alisha Attwood. Our new goalkeeper Sarah Dickson, who was the referees man of the match made an early penalty save in the first couple of minutes and made some great saves that saw us lift the cup.

After going into the first few games of the season with no goalkeeper, Sarah Dickson signed for the club. A great character in the squad and a fantastic goal keeper. She has great footwork and is an excellent shot stopper pulling off quality saves in every game.

Rayanne Haywood – she has a fantastic engine, never stops running, is a brilliant full back in the team. She is strong in tackles, can take people on 1v1 and also manages to score a few goals.

Imogen Yeardley – our new captain of the team, Imogen is a solid defender, who is calm on the ball with excellent passing range. A great captain on and off the pitch who commands the team and prevents goals.

Millie Upton – Millie is a reliable defender, a full back who loves to overlap and is confident on the ball. Millie reads the game well and links up well with her teammates.

Clara Griffin – a full back who progressed every game in her ability and confidence, she is a defender with pace and always looks to overlap.

Emily Wood – Emily is a solid defender, wins every header and is strong in tackles. She is great on the ball and has more confidence in her ability.

Paige Wright– a steady defensive midfielder who is calm and collected on the ball and commands the midfield. Paige is an intelligent player both on and off the ball.

Georgia Brannan– a new addition to the team signing from Dronfield. A centre midfielder who has a great passing ability, keeps the play simple and scores goals.

Maddison Wilson – our leading goal scorer who scores lots of goals with both feet, many from out of the box. She has a fantastic strike and can rely on Maddy to come up with a goal when needed.

Lily Beevers– Playing in the 10 or striker Lily has great hold up play and is good on the ball. She has a great strike and scores goals. Lily links up well with the strikers and creates chances for the team.

Alisha Attwood– A confident winger who has a desire to run past players, has an excellent work rate and scores some lovely goals.

Heidi O’Reilly – She has resigned this season now as a winger. Heidi is a quality team player with great feet, she loves taking players on, has a great crossing ability, lots of assists and a few goals.

Eve West – another new signing, a centre forward with great movement, link up play and gets on the scoresheet. Eve chases down defenders and holds the ball up well for her team.

Evie Wood – Evie can play as a striker or on the wing, she has a great finishing ability and scores many goals. She finds herself in great scoring positions and creates chances for the team.

Take a bow ladies, a great season and well done to Millie and James in their first season in charge. UTO! #oneteam
